PHOTO: Valle de la Luna, Chile

Week-9.jpg

by Joseph Lamps

This photo was taken in Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, last August. I did a summer study abroad program in Buenos Aires and afterwards took the opportunity to travel around Argentina and Chile. I went to the Atacama Desert because it's the driest (non-polar) desert on earth, surrounded by nearly 6000 meter tall volcanos, and I could see the desert by bike instead of having to buy tours.
