"I like the time to just be. To think about what’s in front of me now, and not worry about the next thing or the thing after that.

A few years ago I hiked the John Muir Trail in the Sierra. A few days in I started to see the same people on the trail day after day. Sometimes I didn’t even know their names. I would see this guy when I got to a campsite and be like ‘Hey, blue rain jacket guy! How’s it going?’ It was awesome having that sense of community."
