When swallows dive

I’m always sure

They won’t pull up in time.

Who expects

The opposite? Poor preparation

For mornings, family gatherings, wedding

Receptions - On these streets

Expect a little

Roadkill. However,

Some scars are shaped like

Birds: ink makes the skin more

Intricate - It’s reactionary

Without the action - a point

Of view. Often I feel like when the birds

Fly south, lost in

Striated black clouds pulsing with

Themselves, seeing

This world

Like the Tibetan monks see

The bodies they set

On fire -

Irreversibly removed;

Inexplicably, astonishingly

Abandoned.
